Slide-Swim-Fly

Snake slide slip slither
Over hard dry clay.
Snake slide slip slither
Hot hot day.

Fish swim swish sway
Through the murky way.
Fish swim swish sway
Deep deep bay.

Bird fly flutter flit
Through the open sky.
Bird fly flutter flit
Blue blue sky.

The Lion Roars With a Fearful Sound

The lion roars with a fearful sound,
Roar, roar, roar!
The lion creeps, its prey to catch,
Creep, creep, creep!
The lion pounces with a mighty leap,
Leap, leap, leap!
The lion eats with a crunching sound,
Crunch, crunch, crunch!
The lion sleeps with a gentle snore,
Snore, snore, snore!

The Wombat

The furry little wombat is something like a pig,
With a grumpy nature and an awful urge to dig.
Complete with claws made mighty strong,
For moving tons of earth along.
His eyes are small and very dim,
For daylight means bedtime to him.

The Crocodile

How doth the little crocodile

Improve his shining tail,

And pour the waters of the Nile

On every golden scale!

How cheerfully he seems to grin,

How neatly spreads his claws.

And welcomes little fishes in,

With gently smiling jaws!

Lewis Carroll

I’m a little monkey in the tree
Swinging by my tail so merrily
I can leap and fly for tree to tree
I have lots of fun you see.
I’m a little monkey, watch me play
Munching on bananas everyday.

Itsy Bitsy Monkey

(to the tune of “The Itsy Bitsy Spider”)

The itsy bitsy monkey climbed up the coconut tree
(Pretend to be climbing up a tree)
Down came a coconut & hit him on his knee-OWWW
(Make a fist & hit knee)
Out came a lion a shakin his mighty mane—ANNND—
(Frame face with hands to look like a lion & shake head)
The itsy bitsy monkey climbed up the coconut tree.

Wolf

Wolf’s known to travel in a pack,
That doubtless doesn’t leader lack.
Wolf pack is quiet at high noon,
But loud, when howling at the moon.
It fills the night with haunting tune.

Snail

He cannot fly.
He cannot hop.
He cannot run at all.
But you should see
The way he goes
Slowly up the wall.

He cannot skip
Or race about.
He has one way to go;
And as I watched him
I must say
He’s good at going slow.

Five Little Mice

Five little mice on the kitchen floor,
Seeking for breadcrumbs or something more.
Five little mice on the shelf so high,
Feasting so daintily from up high.
But the big round eyes of the wise old cat,
Can see what the five little mice are at.
Quickly he jumps,
But they all run away,
To hide in their snug little hole all day.
Feasting in kitchens may be very nice,
But home is the best place for five little mice.

Zoo

(to the tune of “Skip to My Lou”)

Chorus
Zoo, zoo, who’s in the zoo?
Zoo, zoo, who’s in the zoo?
Zoo, zoo, who’s in the zoo?
Who’s in the zoo to visit?

Monkeys swinging on a tree,
Sheep and lions grazing free,
Tall giraffes, a sight to see!
All in the zoo to visit.

Chorus

Deer with antlers on their head,
Hippos waiting to be fed,
Peacocks with their feathers spread,
All in the zoo to visit.

Chorus

Polar bears all getting wet,
Baby goats that I can pet,
Elephants I won’t forget,
All in the zoo to visit.

Chorus
