Objective
Students will examine the shapes of each province as well as where it belongs in Canada.
Materials
- Two of each of Canada’s provinces cut out of tagboard. (Draw two Canadian maps on full pieces of tagboard, label all of their names, and cut out each province).
Method
- Split class up into two groups. Each group gets one set of the puzzle.
- Each group works on their own to put together the Canada puzzle.
- Variation: Put together the Canadian puzzle on the chalk board by placing tape on the back of each province. Have one student at a time come up and place a province where they think it should be and adjust it as more puzzle pieces are added.
