Objective

Students will examine and use actions to present a cooperative story.

Method

• Pick a student to come to the front of the class and begin to mime out a scene.
• After about 15 seconds yell “freeze”, which tells the actor to freeze their position. Point to another student and have that student replace the frozen student in their exact position and yell “go”. This student then continues and extends the action that the prior student was in the middle of performing.
• Continue until all the students have had a turn.
• Extension: After the story has been acted out, ask students to look back at the whole story and write out a story based on the class’ actions.
