King Bidgood’s in the Bathtub

by Audrey & Don Wood

readability grade 1, read aloud kindergarten

A kingdom is in disarray because their king is in the bathtub and he will not get out! Many of the king’s servants and friends try to lure him out with activities such as meals, battles, and fishing but to no avail. The king will do whatever he wants…as long as they do it in the bathtub with him. As the adults hover around, a child, much to everyone’s surprise, ends up saving the kingdom with an easy solution. This book is a brightly illustrated hilarious portrayal of the Middle Ages. It is a great read-aloud book for the little ones since it is one of them who solves an adult problem.
