Minecraft (Pocket Edition)
The above image is an example of a giant land picture made out of Wool blocks, created by a 7 year old.
There are two modes of play in Minecraft: Creative and Survival.
Creative Mode has a variety of purposes that are distinct from Survival Mode. Creative Mode uniquely allows the following:
- Flying (double tap center control button and then move around)
- Indestructibility (unless you mine through the Bedrock layer)
- Access to all blocks
- Spawn Eggs to generate Mobs
These unique Creative Mode functions allow users to "sandbox" ideas first without having to gain/expend resources to try them out. For example, you might want to try out certain building styles that would be difficult to do in Survival Mode.
Creative or Survival are options that you decide on when creating a new world.
If younger players find Survival mode too difficult Creative Mode can be a fun alternative to understanding game play.
