Rocks, Sand, Mud

Little Pebbles

One little, two little,
Three little pebbles.
Four little, five little,
Six little pebbles.
Seven little, eight little,
Nine little pebbles,
Ten pebbles rolling in the stream.
Lying on the beach.
Hiding underground.
Warming in the sun.

Rock

Rock rock.
Who's there?
Slate.
Slate who?
It's slate. Time to got to bedrock!

Rock rock.
Who's there?
Granite.
Granite who?
Don't take all rocks for granite!

Rock rock.
Who's there?
Coal.
Coal who?
If you're coal, I'll warm you up!

Rock rock.
Who's there?
Marble.
Marble who?
That pretty rock looks marble-ous!

Stepping Stones

Stepping over stepping stones,
One, two, three.
Stepping over stepping stones,
Come with me.
The river's very fast,
And the river's very wide,
We'll step across on stepping stones,
And reach the other side.

Rocks

I like rocks.
Big rocks, little rocks,
Heavy rocks, light rocks,
I like rocks.

A rock in a river bed,
A rock in a flower bed,
I like rocks.

A Rock Song

(to the tune of "Frere Jacques")

Rocks in my pockets,
Rocks in my pockets,
Big and small,
Big and small.
Shiny little pebbles,
Shiny little pebbles,
Found them all,
Found them all.

Sand

Sand at the beach,
Sand at the shore.
Sand in the ocean
On the ocean floor.

Sand in the desert,
Sand on the ground.
Sand in a sandstorm
Blowing all around!

Sand from rock that has
Crumbled into grains
Saind in a sand dune
Shaped by wind and rains.

Sand on an island,
Sand in the sea.
Sand in the sandbox
For you and me.

Mud

Mud is very nice to feel
All squishy-squashy between the toes.
I'd rather wade in wiggly mud,
Then smell a yellow rose.

Nobody else but the rosebud knows
How nice mud feels
Between the toes.

Mud

I like mud.
I like it on my clothes.
I like it on my fingers,
I like it on my toes.
Dirt's pretty ordinary
And dust's a dud.
For a really good mess-up
I like mud.
