Objective

Students will gather pictures from magazines that represent a variety of careers that they are interested in. The goal of this activity is to expose students to the numerous careers that exist in this world.

Materials

• magazines
• glue
• scissors
• large pieces of paper
• chart paper
• marker

Method

• Ask students to flip through the magazines and cut out pictures that show different people's jobs (careers), then glue these onto a large piece of paper.
• Display each student's collage one by one, and as a class come up with a list of all the jobs that were represented.
• Discuss what each student would like to be when they grow up.
• Are there any more jobs that can be added to the list?
